About Jobingo

A Houston marketplace for first jobs — built for young people who want to work, and for employers who want to hire them.

A first job should not be this hard to find. Plenty of students and young people in Houston are ready to work after school, on weekends, and through a busy season. They are reliable, they show up, and they want a real paycheck. Plenty of local businesses need that energy. The two sides just do not meet each other cleanly.

Jobingo exists to close that gap. We built a marketplace where young people can see honest local openings, and where employers can hire youth who actually want the work.

1. Why we made this

Most job sites were built for people who already have a career. They ask for years of experience, a polished résumé, and a weekday interview. That leaves out the 16-year-old who can work Friday nights, the high school student who wants weekend shifts, and the young person looking for a first chance.

Those are often the people who work the hardest. They are trying to earn something of their own, help at home, or start building a life. We made Jobingo so that effort has somewhere to go.

2. Why employers hire youth

Employers who hire young people are not doing a favor. They are filling real shifts with people who want the hours. Students can cover evenings, weekends, holidays, and seasonal rushes that are hard to staff. They learn fast, they take pride in a first job, and many stay once they find a workplace that treats them well.

A good young hire can become a regular closer, a weekend lead, or the person who trains the next new teammate. Jobingo is built so you can find that person without wading through applicants who cannot work the schedule you actually need.

3. How it helps young people

A first job is more than money. It is a start: showing up, learning a workplace, getting paid for work you did. Jobingo lets students browse Houston jobs for free, see what they are eligible for, and apply without pretending they already have a career.

They do not need years of experience to be worth hiring. They need a clear listing, a fair shot, and an employer who wants someone ready to work.

4. How it helps the community

When local businesses hire local youth, the money and the habit of work stay in the neighborhood. Cafés, stores, gyms, libraries, and restaurants get the extra hands they need. Young people get a reason to be proud of their week. Families get a first paycheck in the house. That is a stronger Houston, one shift at a time.

We are starting here on purpose. A first-job marketplace only works if the jobs are real, the workplaces are nearby, and both sides can trust the process.

5. What we believe about hiring

Youth employment is not a charity program. It is how a lot of great teams get built. The employers we want on Jobingo are the ones who will give a hardworking 16- or 17-year-old a real role, clear hours, and a fair wage — and who know that person might become one of their best hires.

If that sounds like your workplace, you belong here. If you are a student who wants to work, you belong here too.
