Privacy policy

Last updated October 10, 2026. This policy applies to the Jobingo Houston pilot.

Jobingo is a marketplace that helps students and young people find early work, and helps local employers hire them. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who can see it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It covers jobingo.com and the Jobingo service. It does not cover employer websites we may send you to when a job is filled off Jobingo.

If you do not agree with this policy, you should not create an account or apply for jobs through Jobingo. You can still read this page and our public marketing pages without an account.

1. Who we are

Jobingo operates a Houston-area pilot for people ages 16 and older. When this policy says “we,” “us,” or “Jobingo,” it means the team operating the Jobingo service. For privacy questions, email privacy@jobingo.example. For general support, email support@jobingo.example.

We process personal information to run the marketplace: to create accounts, show jobs, send applications, verify businesses, keep hiring conversations on Jobingo, and keep the service safe.

2. Whose information we collect

We collect information about:

Jobingo is not for children under 16. We do not knowingly create profiles for anyone younger than 16. If we learn that someone under 16 created an account, we will close it and delete the profile. We do not show employers a birth date. We only use date of birth to confirm that you meet Jobingo’s minimum age and any minimum age on a specific job.

3. Information we collect

Account and identity

When you sign up we collect your name, email address, and password. Passwords are stored by our authentication provider, not in readable form. Students also give a date of birth so we can check age. Employers also give a job title, optional work phone, and a statement of how they are authorized to hire for the business.

Student profile and applications

If you look for work, you may give us an application name, introduction, home ZIP code, desired hours, earliest start date, whether this would be a first job, weekly availability, time-off dates, experience, activities, skills, and a résumé file. When you apply, we also collect your answers to the employer’s questions and a snapshot of the profile you chose to share with that employer.

Employer and workplace information

If you hire through Jobingo, we collect legal business name, the name students will see, website, workplace names, street address, city, and ZIP code, plus team invitations, roles, and notes your team writes about applicants. We use this to verify the business, show listings, and limit teammate access to the locations they hire for.

Messages, interviews, and hiring activity

We collect the content of messages sent on Jobingo, interview times you propose or accept, application status changes, withdrawals, and whether an employer later reports that someone started. We keep this so both sides can see what happened and so we can look into safety or operational problems.

Files

Résumés and other uploads are scanned before an employer can open them. A file that does not pass review is not shared. We store the file and the review result so we can show you its status and prevent unsafe downloads.

Technical and usage information

We collect basic device and log information needed to keep you signed in, prevent abuse, and understand whether the product is working: things like browser type, approximate time of a visit, and pages or actions tied to an internal account ID. We do not put message contents or application answers into product analytics.

Information from other people

An employer may invite you by email. A teammate may add notes about an application. A student or employer may report a listing, message, or account. We receive that report and enough context to look into it.

4. How we use information

We use personal information to:

We do not use student profiles to sell advertising. We do not sell personal information. We do not use birth dates for marketing, matching beyond age eligibility, or anything an employer can see as a date.

5. Who can see your information

Employers you apply to

An employer sees your application only after you apply to that job, and only if you have given permission to share your application profile. What they typically see is your application name, introduction, availability, experience, skills, answers, and a résumé if you attached one. They see whether you meet that job’s minimum age. They do not see your birth date, exact home address, or password. If you withdraw an application, the employer is told that you withdrew. You can turn off application sharing in Settings; you will not be able to apply again until you turn it back on.

Jobs that leave Jobingo

Some listings send you to the employer’s own website to apply. Once you leave Jobingo, that employer’s privacy practices apply. We cannot see what happens after you leave.

Jobingo staff

Staff can see information when they need it to verify a business, review a listing, handle a report, fix a delivery problem, or complete a privacy request. Access to sensitive records is limited and logged. Staff do not use student messages or résumés for anything other than safety, support, or legal review.

Service providers

We use companies that host the product, send email, store files, and handle sign-in. They process information on our behalf under contract, only to provide those services. They are not allowed to sell it or use it for their own marketing.

Legal and safety disclosures

We may disclose information if we believe we must do so to comply with the law, respond to a valid legal request, protect someone’s safety, or investigate fraud or abuse. If someone is in immediate danger, contact emergency services first.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information for cross-context advertising.

6. Cookies and sign-in

We use cookies and similar storage that are required to keep you signed in, remember which business an employer is working in, and protect the session. These are functional, not advertising cookies. If you block them, you may not be able to stay signed in. We do not run third-party advertising networks on Jobingo.

7. How long we keep information

We keep account and profile information while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove or anonymize personal information that we no longer need, unless we have to keep a record for safety, fraud prevention, a legal obligation, or an unresolved dispute.

Application, message, and interview records are kept for a limited time after a hiring decision so both sides can refer back to them and so we can handle reports. We then delete or anonymize them. Business verification records and safety reports may be kept longer when needed to protect other users.

Backups and logs are retained only as long as needed for security and recovery, then overwritten on a rolling schedule.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on who you are, you can:

To make a privacy request, use Settings if you have a student account, or email privacy@jobingo.example. We may need to confirm it is you before we complete the request. We will not charge a fee for a reasonable request. If we cannot complete a request — for example because we must keep a safety record — we will say so.

If you are in a place that gives you additional rights, such as the right to appeal a decision or to ask for a list of categories of information we collected, email us and we will honor those rights where they apply.

9. How we protect information

We use signed-in access controls, encrypted connections, and limited staff permissions. Résumé files are reviewed before employers can download them. Birth dates are stored separately from the profile employers see. No internet service is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach that affects you, we will notify you in the way the law requires, and we will say what we know and what you can do.

10. Students 16 and 17

Jobingo is designed for first jobs, including people who are 16 or 17. We collect a date of birth so we can enforce Jobingo’s 16+ rule and so we can tell an employer only whether you meet a job’s minimum age. Employers are responsible for following federal and Texas youth employment laws. We do not ask for school records, Social Security numbers, or government ID to create a student profile. Do not send those to an employer on Jobingo.

11. Location and the Houston pilot

Jobingo is piloting in the Houston area. We use a ZIP code to estimate distance to a workplace and to confirm that a workplace is in the pilot area. We do not collect a full home street address from students. Employers provide workplace addresses so students know where the job is and so we can verify the business.

12. International visitors

Jobingo is operated for a United States pilot, starting in Houston, Texas. If you access the service from another country, your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

13. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we will update this page and change the date above. When a change affects how we use information we already have, we will also notify you by email or in the product before the change takes effect, unless we must change the policy sooner to meet the law or address a safety issue.
