Terms of service
Last updated October 10, 2026. These terms apply to the Jobingo Houston pilot.
Jobingo is a marketplace that helps people ages 16 and older find early work, and helps local employers hire them. These terms are the rules for using jobingo.com and the Jobingo service. They cover students looking for work and employers hiring through Jobingo.
They do not cover employer websites we may send you to when a job is filled off Jobingo. Once you leave Jobingo, that employer’s own terms and practices apply, and we cannot see what happens next.
If you do not agree with these terms, you should not create an account, apply for jobs, or post listings through Jobingo. You can still read this page and our public marketing pages without an account. By creating an account or using Jobingo to apply or hire, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy.
1. Who we are
When these terms say “we,” “us,” or “Jobingo,” they mean the team operating the Jobingo service. Jobingo is piloting in the Houston area. For questions, email support@jobingo.example.
Jobingo is not the employer. We do not hire you, set your pay, supervise your work, or run the workplace. An employment relationship, if one forms, is between the student and the employer. Fit explanations, listings, and messages on Jobingo are tools to help both sides decide — not a promise of an interview, a job, or a particular schedule.
2. Who can use Jobingo
You must be 16 or older to create an account. We collect a date of birth to check that rule. We do not knowingly create profiles for anyone younger than 16. If we learn that someone under 16 created an account, we will close it and delete the profile.
Jobingo is operated for a United States pilot, starting in Houston, Texas. Student search areas and employer workplaces must be in the Houston-area ZIP codes we support. If you access Jobingo from somewhere else, these terms still apply, and the service may not be useful or available to you.
You must give accurate information, keep your password private, and use Jobingo only for genuine job seeking or hiring. You may not create an account for someone else, impersonate a business, or use Jobingo to advertise, recruit for unrelated purposes, or collect applicant information for any use other than the job they applied to.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us if you think someone else has used it. We may require extra sign-in steps for staff accounts. We may close, suspend, or limit an account that breaks these terms, puts people at risk, or that we cannot verify.
Students can download a copy of the data we hold about them and request correction or deletion from Settings. Employers can ask us to close or leave a business account, subject to teammate records and records we must keep for safety or law. See the Privacy policy for how long we keep information.
4. Students
Jobingo is free for students. We do not charge you to browse, apply, message, or interview through Jobingo.
When you apply, you choose to share an application profile with that employer. What they typically see is your application name, introduction, availability, experience, skills, answers to their questions, and a résumé if you attached one. They see whether you meet that job’s minimum age. They do not see your birth date, account email, or home street address from your profile. If you type a phone number, email, or other contact details into a message, that employer can see what you wrote.
You can turn off application sharing in Settings. You will not be able to apply again until you turn it back on. You can withdraw an application. The employer is told that you withdrew; you do not have to give a reason.
Schedule-fit explanations are a guide. They compare the hours you listed with the shifts on a job. They are not a filter, a guarantee that you can work those hours, or a promise that the employer will interview you.
Never send money, gift cards, bank login details, a Social Security number, or government ID to an employer on Jobingo. A real employer on Jobingo will not ask you to pay to apply, to reserve a job, or to buy equipment before you are hired. Report anyone who does. Read Safety for what to watch for.
5. Employers
You must be authorized to hire for the business you register. You must give an accurate legal business name, the name students will see, workplace addresses, and a statement of how you are authorized to hire. Teammates you invite must also have a genuine role at that business.
We review each business before its listings can go live with students. Review means our staff look at the information you gave us and, where they can, at public records, a website, or another way to confirm the business is real. “Verified by Jobingo” on a listing means the business passed that review at the time we approved it. It is not a guarantee that every workplace is safe, that every manager is authorized, or that a listing will stay accurate forever. If your legal name, website, or workplace address changes, we may ask you to go through review again.
If you hire through Jobingo, you agree that:
- Listings describe real, currently open jobs, with honest pay, hours, duties, and requirements. You will not post a listing to collect applications for a job that does not exist.
- Hourly pay on a listing must be at least $7.25, the current federal minimum wage that Texas follows. You must still pay at least any higher wage that applies to the job, including overtime and other amounts required by law. Jobingo checks the hourly figure you enter. It does not calculate overtime, tips, or every pay type.
- You must follow federal and Texas employment laws, including youth employment rules for workers under 18 and limits on hazardous work. Jobingo does not automatically classify duties as hazardous. You remain responsible for what you ask someone to do at work.
- You may not charge applicants any fee, ask for financial account details, gift cards, or payment to apply, train, or “reserve” a job, or ask for a Social Security number or government ID on Jobingo.
- You may not discriminate unlawfully in listings, messages, interviews, or hiring decisions.
- You may use applicant information only to evaluate that person for the job they applied to, and for related hiring records you are required to keep. You may not sell it, use it for marketing, or share it with people who are not hiring for that job.
- You will keep hiring conversation on Jobingo when the application is on Jobingo, so there is a record if something goes wrong. Do not pressure a student to move to a personal phone or social media as a condition of being considered.
You can draft listings before verification finishes. Students do not see a listing until our staff publish it, and they cannot see it if your business is not verified. After a listing is live, you may pause or close it. Material changes to pay, schedule, or requirements create a new version. People who already applied keep the version they saw and are told about the change.
Some listings send students to your own website to apply. If you use that option, you are responsible for that site. Jobingo cannot see applications completed there.
6. Listings, applications, and interviews
Before students see a listing, our staff review it for clear pay, honest hours, specific duties, an ordinary paid employee role, a justified minimum age if it is above 16, and the absence of applicant fees or requests for sensitive documents. Review is done by people using a checklist. It is not an automated scan of every sentence, and it does not confirm that the workplace will be safe on a given day.
Employers propose interview times on Jobingo. A student must confirm before the interview is treated as confirmed. Either side can cancel. If the employer changes a material detail, the student must confirm again. In-person interviews should be at the workplace on the listing or another public place the student can share with a parent, guardian, or friend — not at someone’s home.
An employer may later record that someone started work. That record is for operations on Jobingo. It does not by itself create or prove an employment contract.
7. Messages and files
Applications on Jobingo have a message thread. We keep the content of those messages so both sides can see what was said and so we can look into reports. Students can block further messages from an employer on a thread. Our staff can hide a message or pause a conversation.
Résumés must be PDF files. Our staff review a file before an employer can download it. A file that does not pass review is not shared. This is a human review to reduce unsafe or unusable downloads. It is not a guarantee that a file is free of every risk.
Do not send Social Security numbers, government ID images, bank login details, or payment information through Jobingo.
8. What you may not do
You may not:
- Use Jobingo if you are under 16.
- Lie about who you are, who you hire for, or what a job pays or requires.
- Ask anyone to pay to apply, train, or be considered, or to send gift cards or bank details.
- Harass, threaten, or contact someone in a way that is sexual, discriminatory, or meant to intimidate.
- Collect or scrape profiles, listings, or messages except as needed to use Jobingo yourself.
- Try to bypass review, verification, age checks, or a suspension.
- Interfere with the service, probe other people’s accounts, or overload our systems.
- Use Jobingo for any purpose that is illegal in Texas or the United States.
9. Our rights to review and remove
We may review, edit for clarity, pause, or remove listings, messages, files, and accounts that break these terms or put people at risk. We may keep records needed for safety, fraud prevention, or law. We may suspend a listing, a business, a conversation, or an account while we look into a report.
We do not promise a particular response time. We read reports that reach us. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 first — do not wait for Jobingo.
10. Your content
You keep your rights in the text, listings, answers, and files you submit. You give Jobingo a license to host, display, and use that content as needed to run the marketplace — for example, to show a listing to students, to send an application to an employer, to keep a message thread, and to review a report. That license lasts as long as we need the content to operate the service and to keep records these terms and the Privacy policy allow.
Jobingo’s name, marks, and product design are ours. You may not use them to suggest we endorse a business or listing beyond the ordinary “Verified by Jobingo” label we place on businesses we have reviewed.
11. Fees
Jobingo is free for students. During this Houston pilot we do not charge employers inside the product to post or hire. If that changes, we will say so on this page and in the product before we charge you. Any future fee would apply only if you agree to it.
12. Safety is shared
We build Jobingo to reduce common risks in first-job search: we verify businesses before listings go live, we review listings before students see them, we keep hiring messages on Jobingo, we hide birth dates and account emails from employers, and we give you a way to report a listing, message, or interview. The Safety page explains that in more detail.
We do not supervise interviews, workplaces, or what happens after someone is hired. We cannot see activity on an employer’s own application website. You still have to use judgment, tell a trusted adult where you are going, and leave if something feels wrong.
13. Disclaimers
Jobingo is provided as it is, for a limited Houston pilot. We work to keep the service available and the information on it useful, but we do not promise that Jobingo will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every listing, message, or profile will be accurate. Listings come from employers. We review them before publish; we do not write them.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Jobingo is not liable for hiring decisions, workplace injuries, lost wages, off-platform conversations, or damages that we could not reasonably foresee. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not let us limit, including liability for our own willful misconduct.
14. If you cause a claim
If your use of Jobingo — including a listing, a message, or a hiring decision — causes a claim against us, you will be responsible for the losses and reasonable legal costs that result, to the extent the law allows. This is especially true for employers who post listings or use applicant information.
15. Ending use of Jobingo
You may stop using Jobingo at any time and request deletion as described in the Privacy policy. We may stop offering the Houston pilot, or parts of it, or close an account as described above. Provisions that by their nature should survive — including those about records, disclaimers, and claims — will survive.
16. Changes
If we make a material change, we will update this page and change the date above. When a change affects how you already use Jobingo, we will also notify you by email or in the product before the change takes effect, unless we must change the terms sooner to meet the law or address a safety issue. If you continue to use Jobingo after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
17. Texas law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute has to go to court, the courts located in Harris County, Texas, will have jurisdiction, unless the law requires otherwise. If a court finds that part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
These terms, together with the Privacy policy and any in-product consents you accept (including employer terms acceptance and application-sharing permission), are the agreement between you and Jobingo for the Houston pilot. They replace earlier versions of this page.
